The ladies had a competitive evening of bowling against a strong Purley team.

The home team had a strong start and managed to keep ahead giving the away team, a cushion, as they mostly were struggling with the opponents and the green.

Luckily Jo (skip) for the away team was more confident with the green and helped to keep the team in the match.

As the match neared the end, the light was fading but we managed to finish before darkness fell.

The home team Christine W, Sue P, Shirley p and Liz A won 21 to Purley 10. A great achievement.

The away team Susan M, Julie M, Prue M and Jo S lost 15 to Purley 18.

Giving an overall score of  Bookham 36 Purley 28.

My thanks go to all the bowlers and especially the reserves Valerie W and Jane F who kept the teams up to date with the scores.

The home team was well supported by club members, which was greatly appreciated.

The next round is the semi finals against either Banstead Neville or Purley Bury.
