This was the second year of this tournament, sponsored by Abbeyfield Wey Valley Society and superbly hosted by/played at Dorking Bowls Club.

5 clubs took part – Bookham, Brockham, Dorking, Ewhurst and Pippbrook – with each entering 2 mixed triples teams.

Played on a pleasantly warm and dry afternoon, Bookham were out for revenge as they only narrowly failed to win the trophy last year by 1 shot on the aggregate score to Pippbrook.

Bookham A team – Valerie Wilkins, Keith Tutt and Graham Tring – won both of their matches against Ewhurst and Pippbrook to secure 2 points.

Bookham B team – Jenny Spurr, Christine Wooler and Steve Collyer – importantly played well to not only draw their first match against Dorking but also comprehensively beat Brockham to secure 1 and a half points and substantially improve our aggregate score.

We ended up being equal with Dorking on 3 and a half points each but won the tournament and trophy by having a better aggregate score by 5 shots !
