Captains, Jane and Steve, have nominated their charity for the coming year
as:
AIR AMBULANCE – KENT, SURREY & SUSSEX
The AA-KSS provides a 24 hour
service covering an area of 2,853 square miles. They operate from
headquarters located at Rochester Airport with their three helicopters being
hangered and maintained at Redhill Aerodrome. In addition to the
aircraft, they run four rapid response 4x4s. The service is able to reach
any location in its area within 25 minutes.
Their annual running costs amount
to £14m of which some 89% is secured through fundraising and donations.
Each year they attend some 30,000 incidents.
The Club will be raising funds
for them throughout the year through the deployment of collection boxes.
On Sunday 30th May we will be holding our Club Charity Fun
Day from which all the proceeds of the day will be earmarked for the
Captains’ Charity.
