Bookham brought home the 'bronze' shield after four ladies teams played matches yesterday in a playoff for the Surrey Advertiser Trophy at Holloway Hill. Bookham played Holloway Hill and Leatherhead played Walton. We lost to Holloway Hill. Bookham 8 - Holloway Hill 14. And Leatherhead lost to Walton.
The two wining teams played for the trophy and Bookham played Leatherhead for 3rd and 4th place. Bookham won 16 to Leatherhead 15. Holloway Hill won the trophy with Walton second. We have come away with an “enormous shield!” which hopefully will go behind the bar.
A good day was had by all and I would like to thank all those that sent good wishes. I would particularly like to thank the ladies for playing two games in one day and Janice for being the reserve. We also had a small fan club so thanks to Sue Pearson, Mark Attwood and Jane Fiducia.
