Men's Top Club v Old Coulsdon 18th May 2026
After a successful run to the semi-final in this Bowls England competition last season, Bookham men started well again this year when they faced a home match against a highly-regarded team from Old Coulsdon.
There were rain showers during the day but we were pleased that it became dry for the start of the match at 6 pm and it remained so for the whole evening – albeit with a cool wind and deteriorating light by the end.
Involving 5 disciplines – 2 Wood & 4 Wood singles, Pairs, Triples and Rink – Bookham won 4-1, only losing the 2 Woods singles game but with close and highly competitive games for our Triples and Rink team bowlers.
The star of the show was our youngest club member – Kam Sedgwick – who bowled extremely well to beat the Old Coulsdon Club champion in the 4 Wood singles.
Well done to the men and it was hopefully an enjoyable evening also for those who came along to watch and support us.

Ladies Top Club v Epsom 2nd June 2026
The weather was not great as it was stormy causing the match to but stopped while a thunderstorm with lighting passed over. But the ladies didn’t let the weather stop them from playing amazingly.
WE WON ON ALL FOUR RINKS. 😊
Singles - Christine Wooler 21 – 15
Pairs – Jenny Spurr & Prue Miles 28 -15
Triples – Jane Fiducia, Shirley Prentice & Liz Attwood 17 – 13
Rinks – Susan Mullins, Valerie Wilkins, Lesley Searle & Jo Shaw 15 – 11
A great match to watch played by Bookham’s best ladies.
Well done to everyone.
